Art in the Keys - Where Visions Become Reality
Sandra Trupčević - West
Born in Germany to parents of Croatian descent.  Sandy's family moved to Kansas City, Missouri not long after her birth and she was fortunate to have become an American citizen only a few years later.  Because of her heritage, she has had the opportunity to experience the cultural differences of living in both Germany and Croatia as a young girl, as well as learn the languages.
Sandy is a Professional Artist and feels blessed to be "living her dreams" - utilizing her talent and residing in the beautiful Florida Keys.  A graduate from the University of Central Missouri, she holds a BFA degree in Commercial Art with an emphasis in Illustration.  You might have spotted some of her previous works at shows in Kansas City, as well as the annual fund-raiser for the Northland Symphony Orchestra, on the square in Zona Rosa.  Creating pieces to help their cause, was a wonderful experience for her and one that she was glad to have been a part of.  Her last contribution, "Dorothy" (shown in Gallery I), was dedicated to her dear friends and storm chasers Jon & Shawna Davies. Sandy is also a member of the FKCA  (Florida Keys Council of the Arts) and LKAN (Lower Keys Artists Network).  Causes close to her heart include: Forgotten Felines, , the Turtle Hospital, and she has donated some of her work to the Marine Mammal Conservancy in Key Largo to help benefit the rescue, rehabilitation, and research of dolphins and whales.  She currently is showing her work at the Artists in Paradise Gallery located on Big Pine Key, as well as Etsy.
